Omni-Lite secures new contract with aerospace supplier
Omni-Lite Industries Canada Inc.
February 3, 2006
Omni-Lite Industries Canada Inc. has received a new contract from a major Tier 1 aerospace supplier in Southern California. This program reflects the growing order books of airframe manufacturers such as Boeing, which alone announced over 200 orders in December, 2005. The component being developed is used in structural applications by most commercial and military aircraft platforms.
"The successful completion of this product development could lead to further orders from this large customer," stated Allen Maxin, vice-president of operations. "This new order, coupled with additional new orders received from an existing customer, on Feb. 2, 2006, will continue to drive the growth in Omni-Lite's aerospace division."
Omni-Lite Industries Canada's associated company, Omni-Lite E-FORM Technologies Inc., has received the modified equipment necessary to continue its experiments into increased material strength through grain size reduction. The first of these phase two experiments, conducted last week, showed positive results. More detailed evaluations are to be conducted through transmissive electron microscope analysis. These results will help to guide the next experiments in the program. To aid in the evaluation of stronger materials, Omni-Lite E-FORM has ordered additional equipment to be delivered at the end of February, 2006.
