Omni-Lite Industries Canada Inc
Monday Aug 30 1999
Mr. David Grant reports
The company has been awarded a multiyear contract to manufacture a key component for an inventory control system used by the retail clothing industry.
The contract requires monthly delivery of a minimum of 350,000 units for the next 30 months. Delivery of these products will begin at the end of this month. This is the first project undertaken in the company's newly organized commercial division. Additional large contracts are being pursued, including a substantial project for the cosmetics industry.
"This new contract is an important part of our strategy to grow Omni-Lite's commercial division," said David F. Grant. "It will allow us to demonstrate our capabilities in this market as well as attract new business."
Omni-Lite has also been awarded a new U.S. patent for its lightweight compression track products, which are now used in approximately 80 per cent to 90 per cent of track shoes sold worldwide. This utility patent strengthens Omni-Lite's position in the sports and recreation market. At the current World Track and Field Championships in Seville, Spain, Omni-Lite's products have been used in several gold medal performances including the men's 100-metre, 200-metre, and 400-metre events. Omni-Lite's products have also been used in several world record performances including the men's 100, 200, 400, and mile events.
